Aspen Rain Garden

After a sewer line replacement tore up their yard, these clients needed some guidance on how to rebuild it.
They wanted to include aspen trees in the design. Because aspens can struggle in our dry urban environment, we decided to include a rain garden (aka infiltration basin) to direct drainage from the roof into a shallow basin that supports both the aspen trees and their understory plantings with the collected water.
The clients used the finished plan to implement the garden themselves. Each year, they add another section to the full landscape design that we created together.
