Lawn Gone!

Backyard Transformation

Helena, MT · 2025 · Design: Light Song Gardens · Installation: LaRue Landscaping

Yet another drab yard demanding lots of attention without giving much back in return. These clients were looking to enhance the function of their existing outdoor space by adding a path, some privacy, and another seating area for enjoying mountain views.

The clients were also frustrated with the appearance and upkeep of their existing turf.

I developed several options, including layouts that retained portions of the turfgrass and one that removed the lawn entirely. They were thrilled with the idea of adding interest and never having to mow again and decided to say “so long” to the pesky lawn.
