Party Pad

This yard was already brimming with lively personality when I visited for the first time. However, the lawn was in rough shape and the client was looking to update the garden beds to honor her late mother in a way that would be manageable to care for.

At her initial consultation, she mentioned she throws a big Fourth of July party every year. Converting a large portion of the lawn to a paved patio gave ample space for hosting parties, while reducing lawn maintenance needs. Plenty of bold flowering perennials were added to compliment her vibrant yellow house, soften the hardscape, and keep weeds out.

The remaining portion of turfgrass was replaced with a rolling sea of clover, which is certainly enjoyed by pups Queenie and Mojo!
